WHAT IS ESC (EDUCATION SERVICE CONTRACTING)?

POLICY PRINCIPLES

 ESC aims to make quality junior high school (JHS) education accessible by proving financial assistance to deserving elementary school graduates who wish to study junior high school in private schools.


Provides financial support aimed at ensuring that private education remains a viable option for learners. This contributes to the overall goal of improving access to quality basic education 

HOW CAN I BE QUALIFIED FOR ESC?

Eligibility

  •  Elementary graduate from a Public or Private DepEd Recognized Elementary School
  • Incoming Grade 7 student
  • Has not been a recipient of the ESC in the previous school years
  • Filipino citizen

What are the requirements?

  •  ESC Application Form (to be given by the adviser)
  • Recent Identical 2x2 ID photo (2 copies)
  • Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Certified Birth Certificate
  • Grade 6 Report Card
  • Proof of Income

How long Am I qualified to be an ESC grantee?

  • Covers four years of junior high school starting from Grade 7
  • The grant remains in force for the next school year: 

  1. If the grantee is promoted to the next grade level 
  2. Enrolled in an ESC participating JHS

Will my grant be terminated?

 The grant is terminated if a grantee does any one of the following:

  • Drops out for non health reasons in the middle of the school year.
  • Does not reenroll the following school year.
  • Fails to be promoted to the next grade level or is retained at the same grade level.
  • Is suspended for more than two (2) weeks, dismissed or expelled by the school for disciplinary reasons.
  • Transfers to a non ESC participating JHS.

I skipped school last year because of the pandemic, will I be able to continue using my ESC/Voucher

  •  Esc grantee who does not enroll or drops out in S.Y. 2020-2021 may be reinstated in the esc program only if he/she enrolls in an esc participating school in S.Y. 2021-2022.
  • An esc grantee who transfers to a public school in S.Y. 2020-2021 is disqualified from the esc program and cannot avail of the subsidy this school year and the succeeding school years.
